RELIGION: I've got one word. BRAINWASH! Well, not all of them. The way the Chrisitian religion is setup, is to make you believe with no tangible proof. Yeah yeah, people go on and on about 'blind faith' and 'seeing the face of god,' but I for one think it's all bullsh*t. The thing is, is that the human body is set up to avoid pain. Christian's say, "don't follow the way of the Lord, you're going to hell." Clear cut example of pain. By using the punishment of pain, they take you into their religion. And then there's the Jewish religion. This religion has, I think, over 600 laws you MUST follow. And if you don't, you're eternally damned and all that shit... Ya know. (as a side note, i have some family experience with this... my grandfather was a firm believer in obeying all those laws and stuff... it didn't really affect me though..) This system of laws isn't really BRAINWASH, but it's very strict and stupid. It can be compared to a few things such as: Nazism, strictregimes, and a those old societies(like Hammurabi's) with all the rules and stuff. One of the ideals of all those societies is "Eye for an eye, and tooth for a tooth" This... maxim shall I say? was originally said by that King Hammurabi guy a hell of a long time ago. It's one of the crappiest maxim's I've ever heard, but that's beyond the point. The Jewish relgion holds the maxim- the vengeful god who will strike you down and what not. Then there are all those people who think that if you do anything against the lord you should physically be punished, stonings and whatnot... It's all stupid! People don't need religion to be happy. Wait a second, that's not quite true. What I don't like is Organised Religion and stuff like that. People who do there own little religion practices; that's fine with me. If it makes Them feel any better, then it's very cool. It's also cool when a group of people of the same belief system get together to do whatever they do. I don't know, discuss 'god' or something. But what I really don't like is when you've got these big huge churches and all those people who you don't know and are alienated from. THEN it's stupid, THEN they're trying to suck you in and brainwash you to what they believe. See it's run by a few people- the preachers who I compare to a dictator. They preach to you what they think and you just sit there listening and believing EVERY SINGLE WORD! Now wait a second you might say. Isn't the title of this webpage, "Taking Full Advantage of the Freedom of Speach?" Aren't I a Hippocrit now? I would believe not. You see preachers and ministers and all the other big shots are doing something completely different. They're using force(god and the devil) in order to force you to listen to them. I'm not doing that. I'm simply giving you something to read, and you're reading it... you are acting with complete autonomy. I'm not trying to persuade you to my beliefs like the church guys are, I'm merely saying what I think. It's one of the few things I like about america! Okay, I think I've had enough about Brainwash. I really can not stand this about religious people(those that are close to me) when they make a point of telling me that "they're praying for me!" I really don't want to hear. They can pray for me all they want, I just don't like to know aobut it. I really don't know why, I just don't. Many Christian people I know I could use one word to describe them: naive. My tolerance levels nearly burst when I hear these people that think that Jesus is going to do everything for them. I can't stand it! Some people don't do any preparation for the future economically thinking that if God wants them to survive then he'll just give him/her money somehow and if he doesn't and they die, well then who cares, cause they're going to heaven! I have one thing to say to you people.(and it's not that heaven doesn't exist- I don't care about that) Did you ever think about your family? FOREIGN RELATIONS: This is one of the things about America that REALLY pisses me off. The thing that our government feels it is so inclined to do is spread there 'good ideals' across the rest of the world. Take Vietnam for example. America felt it was so imortant that they stop the spread of Communism(in america nowadays it's like a bad word) and promote Democracy. Why do we think that just because we're a Democratic country(and an awful one at that) then all the other countries do as well. What is so wrong with Communism that we can't let a country be a Communist country? Relativism was developed by a real cool guy named James Rachel. This theory states that you should base your decisions on what the local code and standards of conduct are. I really think our country should try it sometime... it works. Japan. There's a country we really messed up with! We thought we were screwing them over, and they in turn screwed us over! Wahoo! After World War II, we were like "Ha ha, now we can make Japan do whatever we want!" So we took away their military, provided that we promise to protect them if they're under attack. Okay, now Japan can take all the money that they WOULD have put into the military, and they put it into Ecucation. In about thirty years they move from and Industrialized nation to one of the leading technological countries in the world! And now the entire west coast is threatened by Japanese companies threatening to take over the "stupider" American companies. This is one of the things that will ultimately lead to the end of America as we know it. So the logical course of action for the US would be to start pumping more money into education instead of wasting it on the poor and disadvantaged, but that's never gonna happen. Hey, I don't care if this country starts going downhill, I'm moving out ASAP anyway! So I've concluded that America's foreign relations pretty much SUCK. We may be the most powerful nation in the world right now, but unless we improve our relations with other countries, it ain't gonna last. US GOVERNMENT/CAPITALISM: I really could go on and on about his subject, but I won't. I'm not very proud of our government. It was set up under a much smaller nation, with millions and millions of less people. With such a small country, the style of government worked; it really did. But now that the country is so damn big, it doesn't really work any more. There's too many people, all with so many differences and what not. Now I think we should pick a state and bomb the hell out of it, kill of a few dozen million. | ||||||||||||||||
